In 1978 Marylou “Nonna” and Joe “Uncle Joe” Cosentino started a restaurant from scratch. The result was “Uncle Joe’s” which has grown from a one room pizzeria with a small assortment of pizza and subs to a full service restaurant. Uncle Joe’s “Geneva’s Oldest Pizzeria” has a fine selection of pizza, pasta, subs, salads and wings.

In 1996 Joe and Marylou purchased the former Josephine’s and Alice’s restaurant and recreated it as Nonna Cosentino’s Trattoria. They continued serving the same homemade tomato sauce, hand rolled meatballs and fresh Italian bread made in the Uncle Joe’s bakery. Opening Nonna’s gave them the opportunity to provide more of the same quality, consistency and friendly atmosphere that they were known for and a wider variety of Italian cuisine.

In 1991 Joe and Marylou’s oldest of six children Bill and his wife Nancy left their hometown of Geneva for Virginia Beach, VA. Bill continued his career as a civilian firefighter for the United States Government, which began at the Seneca Army Depot in 1984. They had a son Dominick and were offered an extraordinary opportunity to work at the Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily. Bill, Nancy and Dominick lived in Motta Sant’ Anastasia for five years. During their time there they formed a love for the families and friends they met as well as the Italian culture. After returning to the United States, Bill retired after 30 years of service as Assistant Fire Chief and decided to come home to Geneva and venture into the restaurant business to carry on the family tradition that Joe and Marylou started so many years ago.

Today, the name has changed a bit but our customers can still expect the same quality and consistency. We welcome you and hope you find Cosentino’s Ristorante to be a delicious experience for you and your family.

Mangia Bene!
